XWAY™ HNX100 Product Family

G.hn Networking Transceivers

The XWAY™ HNX100 series is a flexible and highly integrated family of
home networking chips compliant with the ITU-T G.hn standard. It is designed to support a wide range of applications ranging from stand-alone powerline communication (PLC) adapters and WLAN extenders to feature-rich Integrated Access Devices (IADs) and Set-Top Boxes (STBs).

G.hn is the next generation ITU-T standard for home networking over existing wires (including power lines, phone lines and coaxial cables) with provides data rates up to 1 Gigabit/s.

All Integrated Circuits in the XWAY™ HNX100 Series support the following Lantiq-exclusive technologies:

• Lantiq XWAY™ STREAM (LXS): A unified end-to-end QoS architecture that extends across access and home networks. It allows service providers to pick and choose which services and applications receive the highest priority both inside the access and home networks.
• Lantiq XWAY™ HARMONY (LXH): A unique technology that maximizes performance of VDSL and G.hn networks operating side-by-side.
• Lantiq XWAY™ PROBE (LXP): An advanced remote management platform that enables Service Providers to get real-time diagnostic information about subscriber’s home networks.
• Lantiq XWAY™ PATH FINDER (LXF): A technology that provides automatic path selection across wired and wireless network, using real-time link quality information.

• Compliant with ITU-T G.9960, G.9961 and G.9972
• Support for powerline, phoneline and coaxial (baseband and RF) physical media
• Support for 25, 50 and 100 MHz band-plans
• Integrated Gigabit Ethernet PHY (can be configured as dual Fast Ethernet PHY)
• RGMII interface, for connection to external Gigabit PHY or Gigabit Switch
• Master/Slave PCIe interface for connection to a Network Processor or a Wireless LAN transceiver
• Integrated memory for reduced Bill of Materials and board footprint (external memory option available in HNX176)
• Support for Serial Flash/EEPROM (NAND Flash option available in HNX176)
