Business & Financial Press

Two great honors reinforce Lantiq’s commitment to furthering broadband and its contributions and longstanding dedication to this important industry group

BOSTON, MA – March 9, 2011 – Lantiq, a leading supplier of broadband access and home networking technologies, today announced at the Broadband Forum First Quarter 2011 meeting in Boston that it has been recognized for its contributions to the Broadband Forum with receipt of the prestigious Circle of Excellence Award and a re-elected seat on the board of directors.

Aleksandra Kozarev, Lantiq’s Senior Staff Expert for Standardization, received the Circle Excellence Award. This award is bestowed on individuals who have gone above and beyond the call of duty in their respective areas, and who have changed the face of broadband and the Broadband Forum.  She is a long-standing industry expert, having joined Lantiq (when it was Infineon Technologies) in 1998 as a member of the DSL system engineering team. Since 2004, she has been a regular attendee and participant in the Broadband Forum, previously known as the DSL Forum. Her work includes extensive technical contributions for the Metallic Testing Working Group, including TR-67, TR-100/105 (ADSL2/2plus testing), TR-114/115 (VDSL2 testing) and DSL and HN interoperability testing specifications. She also serves as editor for TR-105 and TR-114.  Kozarev was the recipient of the Broadband Forum Outstanding Contributor Award in 2006 and 2009.

In addition to the Circle of Excellence Award, Les Brown, a Lantiq standardization expert, was re-elected to another two-year term on the Board of Directors. Since 2002, Brown has been a regular attendee and participant in the Broadband Forum where he chairs the Metallic Transmission Working Group (formerly the Test and Interop Working Group).

"For years Lantiq has been driving many of our technical projects, and today we are happy to recognize Lantiq representatives in two special ways," said Robin Mersh, CEO of the Broadband Forum. "We are pleased to induct Aleksandra Kozarev into our Circle of Excellence, recognized an important contributor to many of the Metallic Transport working texts and applaud her dedication as she has taken on multiple editor roles to ensure the Broadband Forum's work moved forward in a timely fashion. Les Brown has served on the board for several years and his re-election by the Broadband Forum membership shows their recognition of his excellent service and his valuable industry leadership."
